Nalpamaram Bark
Ayurvedic medicine Nalpamara bark or powder or Nalpamaram powder is used to treat skin disorders.
This herbal powder was created in the tradition of Kerala Ayurveda.
It is an Ayurvedic blend of the barks of four ficus trees: Athi (Cluster Fig Tree), Ithi (Indian Laurel), Arayal (pippala / peepal tree), and Peral (Banyan Tree).
Benefits
- These are frequently used in Kerala to treat skin problems such as dermatitis, herpes, eczema, and allergic skin conditions such as ringworm infestation.
- When water infused with Nalpamaram podi or powder is cooked, it turns a light brownish-red colour. Moms use this water for bathing to aid in the reduction of pregnancy stretch marks.
- Water for bathing the infant could be heated in Nalpamaram powder.
