Clove Bulk (ഗ്രാമ്പൂ लौंग)
Syzygium aromaticum from the myrtle family (Myrtaceae) is the plant that produces clove buds. Its aromatic flower buds have a long calyx ending with 4 sepals, and an unopened petal forming the central ball. The pale green flowers turn bright red when ready to harvest.
Storage
- In order to keep their flavour strong, it is recommended to store whole cloves and grind them as and when necessary using a pepper mill.
